Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA)

The Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) program provides cash assistance to low-income households. Participating households are given an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card with benefits added monthly. The program is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and administered by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Who Is Eligible for TCA?

The TCA program only serves households with children. Generally, a household must meet the following eligibility requirements to receive services:

  • Income: Gross household income equal to or less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Line (FPL)
  • Work requirements: Adults in the household must meet various working requirements, determined based on household size and circumstance.
  • Immunizations: Children under five-years-old must be up-to-date on immunizations
  • School: Children ages 6-18 must attend school and parents must attend school conferences.
