Florida’s Early Learning Informal Career Pathway
Funded by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act Discretionary Child Care and Development Block Grant Trust Fund, the Florida Division of Early Learning (DEL) tasked us with creating an informal career pathway for early learning educators – the first in the nation – to provide a more streamlined, supportive system to pursue teaching credentials and career advancement. We reviewed existing literature and spoke with teachers, directors, stakeholders and early learning leaders to inform recommendations for a new pathway and provide DEL with a plan for statewide implementation. Once available, the informal career pathway will bring more support, guidance, and recognition to early childhood educators for their expertise and commitment to supporting young children.
